We represent and advise our Counties in legal actions, arbitration/mediation, ordinance/rule/policy promulgation, procurement matters, personnel matters, labor relations, subpoena responses, on matters pertaining to inspection of public records act requests, open meetings laws, election issues, transactional matters, and real property issues. We work closely with our County clients to prepare contracts, resolutions, and ordinances, including personnel policy ordinances, gross receipts tax ordinances, rural addressing ordinances, waste disposal ordinances, and land use ordinances, among others. Additionally, we assist in the implementation of the ordinances our County clients have adopted. We supervise litigation handled by attorneys assigned by the Counties' Insurer, and provide our assessment and recommendations regarding proposed courses of action. Our experience as County Attorneys provide us with valuable insight into the operation and management of a rural county.
Local Governments are the building blocks of America. Our firm has extensive experience in providing legal services to New Mexico public bodies. Specifically, we have had the honor and privilege to provide legal services to Socorro County since 2004, to Sierra County since 2005, to Valencia County since 2009, to Catron County since 2014, and to Cibola County since 2016. As County Attorneys, we have developed close relationship with our County Commissioners, the County Manager, other elected officials, staff and employees of the Counties to facilitate the provision of legal services to the County.
